The following information outlines the options available for combined train and bus travel within the First Capital Connect rail network.
Continuing your Journey by Bus
Most First Capital Connect train stations within the London area have good connections to Transport for London bus services, whilst connections to London Underground and Tramlink are available at a number of stations.

Please note that London Bridge bus station will be closed on certain days because of improvement work.
Outside of London, local bus services provide a frequent and convenient way of travelling to and from most of our rail stations.

Line2line bus service linking the Thameslink & Great Northern route
Line2line links First Capital Connect's Great Northern and Thameslink routes with regular bus services between Hatfield and St Albans City stations.

Shuttle Bus at Luton Airport Parkway
After catching a train to Luton Airport Parkway there is a fast, frequent shuttle bus to the airport. This takes around 10 minutes and goes straight to the airport departure terminal.
When you land at London Luton Airport the shuttle bus departs from outside the terminal at Bay 1, again taking around 10 minutes to reach Luton Airport Parkway station.
We recommend that you ask for a ticket to or from Luton Airport Terminal when booking your train journey. This will include the cost of using the shuttle bus.
Through Ticketing with Local Buses
Through ticketing is available to Transport for London services including Bus, London Underground and Tramlink, through the purchase of the appropriate Travelcard ticket.
Outside of London many tickets are available combining rail and bus travel. PLUSBUS is available at many First Capital Connect stations, allowing unlimited travel around town for approximately £2 a day in addition to your rail fare. PLUSBUS season tickets are available as an add-on to your rail season ticket.
Other Through Tickets with Local Buses
First Capital Connect also offers a number of further through tickets that are valid for connecting local bus journeys. You can often get special fares, which offer better value than buying bus and train tickets separately.
You can buy tickets for many bus journeys to and from the following stations:
- Ely
- King's Lynn (link to Hunstanton and Sandringham)
- Peterborough (including links to Wisbech, King's Lynn, Swaffham, Dereham, Oundle, Corby & Kettering)
Furthermore, in many instances we are also able to offer combined Season Tickets for these journeys, saving you time and money, particularly for commuters.
