Spotlight on the Thameslink Programme

The Thameslink Programme is here and it's starting now! Already it has delivered 23 new air-conditioned trains for the Thameslink route and almost 5,000 extra seats.

In the long term there will be increasingly more capacity, more destinations, better stations, and - from the end of 2016 - a train through Central London every 2-3 minutes.

The programme will transform the service with the express purpose of relieving overcrowding.
