Buy unlimited bus travel around town with your train ticket - from less than £2 a day!
What is PLUSBUS?
It’s a discount price ticket for unlimited bus travel around town (like a Bus Pass) that you buy with your train ticket. Bus travel can be at the start, the finish, or both ends of your train journey. So you pay for your complete train and bus journey in one easy transaction at the station (or by phone). It’s a great-value way to make your entire journey by public transport and reduce your carbon foot-print!
PLUSBUS is available to 240 towns and cities across Britain.

How does it work?
For each town there is one zone that covers the whole urban area (your train journey must start or finish outside of this bus travel zone). With your PLUSBUS ticket you can travel as much as you like on all participating bus services anywhere within the zone.
Great value
PLUSBUS ticket prices start at £1.60, with most priced around £2 to £3 a day, depending on the town or city. Save one-third off the PLUSBUS day ticket price with your Railcard (usual Railcard peak period restrictions apply). Children (aged 5-15) pay half the adult PLUSBUS day ticket price.
Easy to buy
Ask for PLUSBUS when buying your train ticket. You can buy a PLUSBUS ticket:
- online
- at all staffed rail station ticket offices
- by phone through Train Company Telesales teams
PLUSBUS can be purchased with all walk-up and advance ticket types:
- single
- day return
- period return (you will need to specify the date of your return journey)
- season tickets (for set periods, to match the most popular rail season tickets sold: 7-days, 1-month, 3-months, a year). Currently only available from staffed rail station ticket offices, and online.
PLUSBUS can save you money and is more convenient than buying separate tickets. What’s more you can pay with cash, credit or debit card.
