Types of Season Tickets
These allow unlimited travel between the two train stations shown on the ticket for the full duration of their validity. You can break your journey at any train station between the origin and destination station on your Season Ticket.
Travelcard Season Tickets
These allow unlimited travel on London Underground, Docklands Light Railway and National Rail services within the period of validity of the ticket and in the zones for which it is issued. Travelcards are also valid on most London bus services on the London Bus network. They are also valid on Croydon Tramlink services but certain special conditions apply on zonal availability. Please ask at your local station for more information.
When issued from outside the Travelcard area, a Travelcard Season Ticket also includes travel between the starting station and London fare zone 6. Visit the travelcards season ticket page for more information.
Rail and Bus Season Tickets
Combined bus and rail Season Tickets are available from some of the First Capital Connect rail stations. You can make your main journey by rail and complete it by bus, two separate Season Tickets may be required for some destinations.
At present, combined bus and rail Season Tickets are available in 7-day, monthly, 3-monthly and annual validity's. Visit the rail and bus season ticket page for more information.
Ticket Duration
7-day
These normally cost less than five Standard Day returns. They are valid for a full seven days rail travel between the points shown on the train ticket.
Monthly
Monthly Season Tickets are priced at less than four times the cost of 7-day train tickets and are valid for a full calendar month from the date of commencement.
We have recently introduced an automatic renewal option for monthly tickets bought online which you can specify when you buy your ticket, meaning you don't need to remember to renew or queue at the ticket office!
Quarterly and other periods
Season Tickets can also be purchased for any duration between one month and one year. Tell our ticket office staff the start and finish dates and they will be happy to help you.
Annual "Gold Card"
Gives you a full calendar year's travel for the price of only 40 weekly tickets - so you get 12 weeks free! Gold Card holders can save a third on the price of most Standard Class train fares within the South East at weekends, Bank Holidays and after 1000 on weekdays. You can also take up to three adults with you at the same discount, while up to four children (aged 5 -15) may accompany you for a minimum of £1 each. First Class Upgrades for Gold Card holder
First Class ‘one day’ Supplements, currently priced at £5.00 per adult and £2.50 per child, can be purchased and used in conjunction with valid Standard Class discounted tickets within the Network Railcard area on the following basis:-
On Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays), for any journey wholly or partly over the route covered by a Standard Class Annual Gold Card/Travelcard, unless a separate discounted ticket for the journey being undertaken has been purchased by the Annual Gold Card holder. This does not apply at weekends or Public Holidays.
Gold Card First supplement train tickets can be used in conjunction with a valid discount standard tickets for travelling in First Class accommodation for a single or return journey (on the same day). If the return journey is made on another day, a further supplement ticket must be purchased.
On Mondays to Fridays (not Public Holidays) travel in First Class accommodation is only permitted after 10:00.
First Class Supplement tickets are not valid for travel at any time on First Great Western, East Coast, East Midlands Trains, or Virgin West Coast services. On Cross-Country trains, travel is at the discretion of the on-train Senior Conductor and subject to accommodation being available.
Holders of First Class Annual Gold Cards need only purchase First Class Supplements for accompanying adults and children where the journey being made is covered by the route validity of their season ticket.
Accompanying passengers must also be issued with discounted adult Standard Class or child flat fare tickets as appropriate.
Discounted tickets issued to holders of Network Railcards purchased at a discount by Annual Gold Card holders are subject to the normal Network Railcard terms and conditions, e.g. weekday time and minimum fares restriction apply.
